Polish P-23 - This is a model of a Polish-built light reconnaissance bomber that resisted the German and Soviet invasion of September 1939. The PZL P-23 entered service in 1936 and its production ended in 1938. It was obsolete at the outbreak of WWII, although its successor, the P-46 Sum, was being developed. PZL P-23s were also flown by the Romanians against the Soviet Union in 1941. These were Polish planes confiscated after their pilots had sought refuge in Romania from the German and Soviet invasion of Poland. |
