French 631 C2 - This is a model of a French-built heavy fighter that flew against the German invasion of France in 1940. White stripes were added to their sides during the campaign to help differentiate them from German Bf 110s. The difference between the model 631 and the model 630 was that the 631 had Gnome & Rhône engines, and the 630 used Hispano-Suiza engines. These two models were the heavy fighter versions of the plane, and the 633 was the light bomber version, with the guns underneath replaced by a bomb bay. A few 633s were exported to Greece before the war, and to Romania before that country joined the Axis in late 1940. |
