Dutch Douglas 8A-3N - This is a model of an attack bomber that fought against the German invasion of May 1940. The 8A-3N was the export version of the A-17A, built in the USA for Holland before the war. Douglas bought out Northrop in 1938, and continued the development of the A-17, which was a Northrop design. The A-17A was an improved version of the A-17, with retractable landing gear replacing the original fixed wheels. |
