Japanese Ki-48 Type 99 Army Light Bomber - This is a model of a plane that flew against the Allies in Malaya in December 1941. The Allied codename for the plane was "Lily." The Japanese modeled the Ki-48 after the Tupolev SB bomber because they were impressed by the Tupolevs they had encountered in China starting in 1937. The Ki-48 first saw combat in 1940 against the Chinese but it was declared obsolescent and removed from combat service in 1944.
