Romanian He 112B - This is a model of a fighter that participated in the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. They were obtained from Germany before the war. The Germans never made much use of the He 112, as the Luftwaffe was more pleased with the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The He 112 first saw action in 1938 with the Legion Condor, the German air contingent sent by Hitler to support the Nationalists in the Spanish Civil War. The Germans also provided some He 112s to the Nationalists, and they started using them in combat in 1939. |
