German Fw 189A-1 -This is a model of a short-range reconnaissance plane that participated in the 1941 invasion of the Soviet Union. The Fw 189 entered service in late 1941 and was supposed to replace the Henschel Hs 126 reconnaissance plane. A Fw 189s were supplied to Hungarian and Slovakian units operating against the Soviet Union on the Eastern front. The German's considered the plane a flying eye, and called it the "Uhu" (owl). About 1,000 were built, most of them in Vichy France, before production ended in 1944.
