South African Fury Mk.II- This is a model of a fighter that flew against the Italians in East Africa in 1940 and 1941. South Africa obtained its first seven Furies from the British in 1936. After Italy declared war in 1940, the British sent the South Africans some more, which allowed them to send three squadrons of Furies against East Africa. The Fury entered RAF service in 1931, giving the British a fighter that could keep up with the Hart bomber. The Fury was flown by the RAF's elite fighter squadrons until it was totally replaced by Hawker Hurricane in 1939. |

Yugoslavian Fury Mk.II - This is a model of a fighter that flew against the German invasion of April 1941. Yugoslavia obtained its first six Furies from the British in 1931, and they eventually built many more under a license. The Yugoslavian-built Furies had single-strut landing gear. In 1933, the British began exporting radial-engined Furies to Iran. The Iranians flew them against the British and Soviet forces that invaded Iran in August 1941. But the first Furies to see combat were three that were sent to Spain in 1936. They saw action in the Spanish Civil War. |
