French MB 152 - This is a model of a French-built fighter that flew against the German invasion of France in 1940. The MB 151 was an earlier version, fitted with a smaller engine. Greece ordered some MB 151s in late 1939 but only received nine before the French surrender in June, 1940. The Greek MB 151s saw action against the invading Italians and Germans in 1940 and 1941. Due to problems with the French production process, only about 500 MB 151s and 152s had entered service when the Germans invaded France in May, 1940. The plane's production was discontinued after the French surrender. |
