British Mk.I - This is a model of a maritime reconnaissance plane that patrolled the coast of England in 1940. The Anson started out as a small commercial airliner in 1935, and was converted to military use in 1936. The British provided some Ansons to the Greeks and South Africans before the war. By the end of 1940, most British coastal patrol duties had been taken over by Bristol Beauforts and Lockheed Hudsons. The Anson continued to be used a military training plane, however, with the last one being built in 1952.
