  • 1990 to Present- Participant in the NEPA public planning process for dozens of livestock grazing allotments located on the National Forest and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands of the American Southwest.
  • 2003- Designated the Arizona Wildlife Federation's "Conservationist of the Year" by receiving the Thomas E. McCullough Memorial Award, non-professional category, for outstanding service in wildlife conservation and natural resource protection.
  • 2002- Founding member of the steering committee for the Arizona Grazing Permit Buyout Campaign.
  • November 1999- Attended the National Wildlife Federation's public lands grazing reform activist conference, held in Santa Fe, NM.
  • July 1998 to Present - Appointed to be the environmental representative of the BLM's Phoenix Field Office's Rangeland Resource Team (RRT), a regional subgroup of the Arizona BLM's Resource Advisory Council (RAC).
  • June 1998- Panelist for the National Wildlife Federation's public lands grazing reform activist conference, held in Park City, Utah.
  • Fall 1997- Steering Committee Member for the Symposium on Environmental, Economic, and Legal Issues Related to Rangeland Water Developments, sponsored by the Arizona State University Center for the Study of Law, Science, and Technology.
  • October 1996- Panelist for session addressing conflict resolution and rangeland reform at the Future of Arid Grasslands Conference, held in Tucson and sponsored by the University of Arizona, the National Audubon Society, Arizona State University and others.
  • Fall 1996- Interviewed by Arizona Business Magazine for an article, published in their fall issue, about the use of HRM management for livestock grazing on Arizona's public lands.
  • April 1996- Toured the Orme Ranch with ranch managers Alan & Diana Kessler. They use HRM style livestock management on the Prescott National Forest's V-Bar grazing allotment.
  • February 1996- Featured speaker at the Public Rangelands Grazing Workshop, cosponsored by the Land & Water Fund in Boulder, CO, and Arizona State University's student Environmental Law Society. It was held on the campus of Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ.
  • April 1995- Toured the Audubon Society's Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch and the adjacent Diamond C Ranch, managed by Rukin Jelks III. The Audubon ranch hasn't been grazed in 17 years while Jelks uses HRM style livestock management.
  • October 1994- Panelist in a debate on public lands grazing sponsored by the Nature Conservancy at their Hassayampa River Preserve in Wickenburg, AZ.
  • February 1994- Panelist seated at the table with Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt when he came to Phoenix to conduct a public hearing on his rangeland reforms.
  • January 1994- Discussed livestock grazing on public lands as the featured speaker at the local Sierra Club chapter's monthly general meeting.
  • July 1993- Chosen by the National Wildlife Federation to fly to Washington, DC, to represent Arizona in lobbying Congress for public rangelands reform.
  • 1992- Founding member of the Arizona Grazing Clearing House, a loose coalition of Arizona grazing activists dedicated to public rangelands reform.
